The Qashqai is just like an iPhone, I mean it is a real success for the Japanese automaker since its first launch in the UK market. It was you can say the pioneers of manufacturing the crossovers in the UK with a truly elevated success level in the family cars as a family carrier and an off-roader. Nissan has rolled off more than two million Qashqai models so far since its launch in 2007.

What is new?

The all new Nissan Qashqai is an exclusively built SUV that can go anywhere with its wider body style and efficient Nissan Qashqai engines.

New power generation units are more than ever cleaner and fuel efficient. To the crossover class, it is a great addition which has great practicality, excellent interior and efficient engines to make this family car a true choice for family.

Nissan Qashqai petrol and diesel engines

Nissan has offered the Qashqai with four engines as standard where two are for the petrol lovers while reaming two are for those who love extra torque and real growling of a diesel engine. The good thing about entire engine line-up is that every model is exclusively powered by the turbochargers.

Let’s start with the world of diesel engines. There are two engines offered with 1.6-litre and a 1.5 litre turbocharged respectively. Both engines have most sales in the UK. The 1.6-litre engine is available in both all-wheel drive and two-wheel drive versions.

With the front wheel drive variations, you can opt for an automatic transmission too. The all-wheel-drive version is available with only manual option. The all new Qashqai performs very well with the diesel engines, even on the road or off the track.

Due to its size, it does feel bulky but it is still a fun to drive. Nissan has introduced a range of safety features to assure the handling and practicality. Your fun might decreased with the growl of engine on the motorway speeds.

Excellent efficiency

The biggest seller on the Nissan engine line-up was the first generation of Qashqai in the UK as was remained the favourite choice among the company car drivers in the UK. Almost 60 percent of total sales of Nissan in the UK came from the first generation of the Qashqai.

Fleet buyers have selected the Qashqai with the 1.5-litre diesel engine because of the lower carbon emissions of under 100g/km which is like a tiny car. But the majority of tiny cars do not offer the carbon emissions under 100 gram per kilometre.

This lower carbon emission band helps the company car drivers to save big on the road taxes in the UK. Even the largest petrol engines in the Nissan Qashqai is also very clean with carbon emissions of under 130 g/km while returning the average fuel economy of more than 50 miles per gallon. The new Nissan Qashqai is a real success both inside and out, front and rear.
