Volkswagen Passat Executive and Executive Style with new engines

Volkswagen Passat has been launched in an all new trim which is on sale from 2nd January. The new trims are the Passat Executive and Passat Executive Style and sits above the entry level S and BlueMotion versions in the range. They are going to be launched in both saloon and estate bodystyles. Remember that the next generation Passat is going to hit showrooms later this year and this will debut in September at the Paris Motor Show.

The Highline model is being swapped by the new Passat Executive trim which now has 17-inch Michigan alloy wheels, plus exterior chrome trim and a full size spare. The new Passat Estate models also get matt black roof rails. The interior is new too, as all cars get touchscreen sat-nav, heated front seats, leather upholstery and electric adjustment for the driver’s seat. It also has dual zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors as well as auto lights and wiper.

VW state that the Passat Executive comes with over £1,700-worth of equipment over the Passat Highline, but costs £200 more. Hence a starting price of £22,900 for a Passat Executive saloon. It is powered by a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine where as a 2.0-litre TDI Passat Executive Estate with a DSG gearbox is priced at £28,160. If the basic Executive trim is not enough for you VW also offers the Executive style model replacing the Sport and R-Line trim levels. It is in reality the Executive Model, but adds 15mm lower sports suspension, bi-xenon headlights, front fog headlights, tinted rear windows and 18-inch Kansas alloys. VW say this kit is worth more than £2,000, although the Executive Style models cost £995 more than the Passat Executive. Prices for the Passat Executive Style range from £23,895-£29,155.
